Fiji Coffee Bar - The Ultimate Coffee and Chocolate Experience
An exciting new coffee chocolate bar has just opened on the main mall. The brainchild of Barry Cahill, long time tenant of the Merrion Centre, he was directly affected by the banking crisis and the subsequent recession. Seeking a new business opportunity, he was inspired to open a coffee chocolate bar by his mother Vivienne Cahill, who ran a successful coffee bar in her boutique in Glasthule in the mid 80s called Fiji's. The concept behind this new venture focuses on freshly roasted coffee served by experienced baristas, handmade Irish chocolates and speciality teas.
Working with partners, he researched extensively to identify and select the highest quality artisan coffee, chocolates and teas, together with a striking design and highest quality equipment to set up a coffee chocolate bar.
Now completed and open, the new coffee chocolate bar offers a unique selection of tproducts from awarding winning suppliers like:
- Badger and Dodo – freshly roasted by Master Coffee Roaster, Brock Lewin, a native Australian, working from Fermoy, Co Cork, whose unique coffee selections are sourced from the finest organic coffee estates across the world.
- Benoit Lorge – Master Chocolatier, a native of Lorraine in France, he moved to Kenmare to set up Benoit Chocolates and has won a number of prestigious awards.
- Teapigs – suppliers of organic herbal and speciality teas and critically acclaimed by press and magazines like Men's Health, The Times, and James Oliver magazine.
Fiji Coffee Bar offer its customers not just the highest quality products, but unique products, for example:
- Large Slabs of Chocolate – in 18 flavours – broken and displayed in open vases for customers to pick as much, or as little as they wish, and sold by weight (€3.75 per 100g).
- Pure Hot Chocolate – in 4 flavours, White, Milk, Dark and Milk Hazelnut – melted from chocolate slabs and made fresh every day (€3.50, Chocolate shots €2).
- Hot Chocolate Mocha – in 4 flavours (€3.50, espresso with hot chocolate shot €3).
- Chai Latte – in many flavours – a latte made with speciality tea, best served with honey and cinnomon (€2.80).
These are just a few examples, and over the coming months, Fiji Coffee Bar plan to introduce new and exciting products to enhance the shopping experience for visitors to the Merrion Centre.
Fiji Coffee Bar is open Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm and Saturday, 9am to 7pm and Sunday, 11am to 6pm.
